German WW1 First Class Iron Cross - Double ScrewbackA stunning silver and iron cross in First Class to the Imperial German Army. Correctly 3 piece, with Silver backing plate, Iron center and Silver edge, the cross had light wear to front, with just some slight crazing (but no rust) to paint to center. To back, the cross is stamped "800" to center, and has two screw posts in a North/South config. Both screw plates are present and in good condition, but not the thread to the posts is a little worn (more so on the north post at the top than the bottom). A interesting configuration on a beautifully convex breast award.
