A two piece, gilt brass cap badge to the WW1 C Coy (Canterbury) Reinforcement draft. Worn by both Infantry and Mounted Rifles Reinforcements in early 1916.
Some wear to front, with dirt and old lacquer to detail.
When I got this badge, it had a thick yellow coat of lacquer to both front and back. I have removed much, but there is still remnants.
To back, the badge has had its lugs removed and a broach fitting attached.
Hinge and hook are present, but the pin is missing.
To front is a RD (Registered Design Number) of "RD 812"
