New Zealand WW2 Y.M.C.A Collar Badge - Pair
A pair of rather scarce darkened brass collar badges to New Zealand's WW2 Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA).
Originally with the Kiwi's during WW1, by WW2 they were volunteer Soldiers who ran it behind the lines after a number of Civilians were captured by the Enemy. They provided home comforts, food and writing material for the troops.
Both collars are in good, but dull condition, with most darkened finish now polished off to front. To back is traces of the original finish and two copper wire loops to each badges, firm and original.
Both are maker marked to "M & K, W" at the base, back of the triangle for Mayer and Keane of Wellington.
