A single piece, darkened brass cap badge to the WW1 Canadian CEF 55th (New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island) Infantry Battalion.
Light wear to front, though someone has drilled a hole in the top point of the Maple leaf.
To back, it looks as if the badge had a slider in the past, with a part bit at the top. Two copper looped wire lugs have been soldered to back in a North/South config.
No maker mark that I can see.
