A single piece, thin gilt brass Cap badge to the Japanese Government Railways (JGR).
I believe that it is missing the backing cloth disc which fits inside the back of the wheel to top.
Worn from 1900 to just after WW2.
Good gilt finish to front, with little wear to detail.
To back is a central double tang, firm and original to back, but a little bent.
