New Zealand Otago & Southland Regiment Cap & Collar Badge Set - 1948 to 1964 - Gilt Fired Brass
Three single piece, gilt fired brass cap badges and a collar to the Otago & Southland Regiment.
Formed in 1948, with the amalgamation of the 4th (Otago) Infantry Regiment and the 8th (Southland) Infantry Regiment, they became the 4th Battalion of the Royal NZ Infantry Regiment in 1964.
All badges are in great condition, with light wear to front.
Note that both the Cap and the Left collar (when worn) are two CAP badges, just because of the length of lugs to back. Though the one I have pictured as a collar, has its lugs slightly malformed to back, and I just wonder if this damage is in a effort to shorten the lugs are wear as a collar.
All have a pair of copper looped lugs firm and original, to back.
The bottom to badges are marked to "J R Gaunt, London", whilethe top badge has NO maker mark.
