A single, scarce post 1936 16mm darkened brass button to the British Artists Rifles Regiment. The button just has the word "Artists" to banner to front.
During the Second World War, it was used as an officer training unit. The regiment was disbanded in 1945, but in 1947 it was re-established to resurrect the Special Air Service Regiment.
Some wear to darkened finish to front, with old polish to detail.
To back is a flexible shank, which has some wear to backing of the button, but still firm to back.
Maker mark to "Hobson & Sons".
