A rare "heavy type" WW1 Imperial German Belt Buckle to the state of Prussia.
The majority of this type I have come across are to the state of Saxony.
Light wear to front, with some field grey/blue paint remaining.
To back, the prong, prong bar and D catch are all in good working order.
The theory with these buckles is they were worn when a Soldier needed a stronger belt to cope with extra field gear attached.
No maker mark.
