New Zealand WW1 era Reinforcement Collar Badge?

A unusually style/pattern of WW1 Collar badge I think worn as a Reinforcements collar. I seem to remember seeing a chap wearing a pair of these with the photo taken around the time.
They do come in opposing pairs, as I have a set. They are not recorded in Oldham/Corbett
Gilt brass, with light wear to front.
To back, are two wire looped lugs, firm and original.
No maker mark.
