A darkened bronze cap badge for a Officer in The British Royal Marine Corps.
This is the bottom part of what should be a two piece badge. There should also be a Lion and a Crown above, which is separate, and would of course indicate a rough date, as it would be either Kings or Queens crown.
Light wear to chocolate brown finish.
To back are two tangs, with a slight stress fracture on the tang on top/left at the bend (when viewed from the back).
Nicely maker marked/impressed to "J R Gaunt London".
