A single piece, brass, 19mm high shoulder number to the WW1 New Zealand 49th Reinforcements.
Light wear to front.
To back, both hex lugs have been broken off. I purchased a small amount of these, and the seller stated that all lugs had been removed to fix other badges!
The 49th never left NZ, the 43rd for both the Infantry and Mounted Rifles were the last to leave, before the war finished. They would have still been training at the time.
Up to and including the 50th were training at the end.
